Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Wink Sony Caves In!

After more emails and being booted around to more different people than I can remember, I finally got someone that took ownership of the problem! I have now received a download of Sony Movie Studio Platinum 6.0b. It is installed and working, mostly.

I say mostly because it has a feature called the Media Manager that doesn't load. I get an error message that warns me about it, but the program loads otherwise OK. It doesn't look like something I need, so I am not going to worry about it. The strange thing is that there is supposed to be an option in the General Tab of the preferences that you can turn this feature off. But I don't see it in there.

One other strange thing is when I loaded an old project, the size was way bigger than it should have been. So much so that the entire image would not show in the preview window and all the text was too big. Is this something due to a difference between programs? I would think they would all be backward compatible to encourage people to upgrade. But then, this is Sony.

The size problem turned out to be a box in the preferences tab that caused the preview to be shown at the same size as the video. I unchecked it and now everything is fine. Well, the Media Manager thing is not, but that isn't important, at least currently.

One think I have noticed is it saves files in the .veg format. Is this likely to be a future problem?

Why would it be a problem?
