Anyone found of a way to display true 16x9 video on a web site?. I.E. Without having it letterboxed in a 4x3 viewer.

Encode your video with the dimensions assuming a square pixel aspect ratio (i.e extend the width and keep the height constant), then set these dimensions within the embedded video within the HTML code.
