Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Render to Xvid/Divx?

I have the K-Lite codec pack installed and can view Xvid movies, etc. But I cannot get Vegas MovieStudio to create one.

I select AVI, but Xvid or Divx do not appear in any of the file formats I can see.

Any idea what I can do ?

Thanks.

I re-installed Xvid, and the option is there now and works perfectly.

So much for sony technical support....

Thank you for contacting Sony Media Software Support. Unfortunately, Movie Studio 6.0 Platinum will not be able to render the files to Divx or Xvid (MPEG4) as it does not have the ability to export in that formats. It exports in the following formats

AIFF, MP3,OGG, PCA, SFA, W64, WAV, WMA, AVI, BMP, GIF, JPG, MWV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, SWF, TGA, TIF, Quicktime.

I hope this information is helpful. If you have follow up questions or need further assistance with this issue, please update this incident.

Have a great day.
Sincerely,
LOL

Bless Sony support! So essentially they're saying that any codec using the AVI wrapper isn't supported.
