I'm a bit of a newbie with editing and am looking for some sites that would give me editing tips.

I am creating a youthy type video so need it to be punchy. I'd like to see good examples of editing so I can learn from that. I'm not so good with reading text and learning that way. I've got to be able to "see" it in action.

Also, being a newbie I am finding that I've some lighting issues especially indoors. I've managed to catch a few flourescent lights and thought I could deal with them "in post" but, using Levels, Hue and Saturation/Luminouscity, curves etc does not really deal with it well.
I suppose you're limited as to what you can do in post?

Not sure what you mean by 'youthy'. Do you mean grungy, or what?. If grungy then I would have thought a fluorie look could be quite good. what are the 'issues' exactly?.

Yes you're right, grungy. Fast-paced, unusual angles etc etc.
I'm just wanting some good tips on editing. Where to change the angle, when to zoom in. When to change to black-and-white etc.

The flourescent light just looks too dominating. I used Curves and Levels etc to take it down, but it takes the whole picture down not just the light, so I end up with a darker washed out image.
I fear I can't address this "in post", I should have just avoided the light altogether.

It is possible to address things like this in post?

Have you tried filtering with Magic Bullits "Filmic Warm"?. This filter kills the fluorie lighting.

I have managed flouresents in the past with curves, have you tried just pulling down the extreme right top only? It can just take the edge off the brightness but it will still look a bit odd. This works better if the camera is set to manual exposure and the lights are overexposed, burned out.
