Default Rendering Q?

Hey there Ive just render my panasonic cam(sucky cam) to high quality? and now its like 60mins long and its like 956mb almost a GB
now i was wondering if i can make the vid small with Sony Vegas but still get the best quality because the quality is like WOW!! if u can see of my older videos the quality was really poor so pls help me if u guys can?
