Okay I was wondering if anyone knew a good site that had a whole bunch of vegas tutorials? I have been seraching on the internet forever it seems, and only come up with broken links/shady sites with porn and stuff.

I really just need to find out basic stuff, like how to put a logo over video. So you see the logo, but the video is still running in the background. Also since it will probably be hard to figure out, tutorials on how to give the logo a cool effect when it comes in will be appreciated too.

Or if anyone knows how to do this and would like to give me really easy, stupid moron baby step instructions, I would really appreciate that as well

If you learn the basics/fundamentals of any package, you'll be able to achieve any effect with lateral thinking. I suggest you buy yourself a book and teach yourself the basics. You'll then be able to apply this knowledge to create the specific effects you want.

For the logo. You should simply just import it and place it above the footage you are putting it over. Place i where you want it to go with the motion or transform or whatever it is, and lower the opacity. And just use a tranistion for a come in effect. If you want to be more dramatic and what not, download particle illusion for some fire or explosions, or even spicemaster.

Thanks dude that was a big help! I guess my problem was I was placing it on the video file in the little timeline thing, I never thought to put it above it...

edit: ok after much frustration I have figured out how to set the effects on the watermark, and I can set the opacity finally. But I am still having trouble placing it exactly where I want. Im using pan/crop to move it, but when I move it in some areas it cuts off by an invisible wall or something.

If you download the official Sony manual, I can't see how you will need anything else. The way it is worded and laid out is logical and it doesn't assume any previous knowledge.

I actually printed it out and put the whole thing in a ring binder. I must admit that it is about 3" thick but it really makes it more readable.

Perhaps you have already done this but there are many who haven't and the manual is certainly worth a look.

Try adjusting the track motion also. I remember when i used Vegas and the same thing happened, you have to adjust the logos motion track and you jsut use it like pan/crop and move it into the corner.
