Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default overlays in vegas

basically, ive got a video, and i want to overlay two identical segments to create the illusion of two cars being on the track at once. i want an effect similar to that shown on sports programs (especially winter sports) where multiple competitors are shown on the same stretch. ive tried various settings but to no avail. can anybody help?

Put one track above the other and decrease the level on the top track, job done.

Unless the camera angles are very similar in both shots it may just look a mess.

Doing it this way means the 'top' vid will always be transparent to some degree, maybe not what you want.

Insted you might try the cookie cutter effect on the top track. Use it to show only the bit you want and leave the level at 100%.
