Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Video formats

I am having alot of trouble rendering my movies in a 16:9 format. Sometimes if I create a photo slide show, they show photo's that are quite obviously squeezed sideways. Also, any titling that I placed on the screen in wide mode somehow manages to partially overlay the photo's.

I have also noticed that although I create the movie in Pal widescreen, when I render the picture, the preview panel looks as though it's rendering as a 4:3 and cannot seem to change this.

I have now decided to both create and render in 4:3 format as opposed to trying to get 16:9. I ahve two questions from you experts......

1. If I create as a PAL widescreen, why does the preview panel show a more square mode and how can I change this to render as a prper widescreen mode?

2. If I create and render as a 4:3, when I play it on a widescreen TV, how can I prevent the image from distorting?

Ok - it's sorted now. Sat down with the manual and a cup of tea.

Apologies that no one was able to chip in, but glad you got it sorted.
