Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Linking two computers - is it possible in Vegas?

Hi,

I have a P4 2.8 GHz with 2 gig ram running Vegas 6 and capture via my Canapus ADVC 110 to AVI files.

Everything is working well but my CPU is maxing out when editing in Vegas.

Question: Can Vegas link to another PC to boost performance?
I also have a P4 2 GHz with 1 gig ram networked

Steinberg’s cubase SX3 can link and share more than one computer to spread the load via a system link protocol program built into cubase!

Was just wondering if anything similar is implemented in Vegas????

I can't find anything listed in the manual but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

I think vegas can only use more than one PC for rendering.

This is a repeat post but didn't feel like retyping the whole thing...hopefully it will help.....
I've been playing around with network rendering and looks cool. A few things to be aware of.....if you want to do Network rendering with MPEG2 files you need to purchase multiple copies of Vegas...if you want to use 3 PCs you'll need 3 copies. Vegas comes with 3 licenses for network rendering for AVI files.......so if you have a completed project you can install Vegas on additional PCs as a render client only. The configuration is a bit tricky but once you get it set up it works pretty good. At one time I was running 3 PCs as render clients and it cut my render time in half.
