Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Transition Problems

Hey all, Ive got Vegas 6 and I make say a 3 minute video I add the transitions by using the opacity thing then placing the clip part over the other clip. Then I add the transition effect. But when I render the file in 512 Kpbs, the transtitions Flicker all of them there is a black flicker which goes on through all of them. It is very annoying, Someone told me to increase the template size so I re-rendered it in 3mbps but the flickering is still there, when I go to save it in the biggest template say 8 mbps, the flickering stops but my video picture is squashed by two large thick black lines down teh left and right hand side of the picture. Please Help Me otherwise ive wasted alot of money.

You will always lose information during compression. If you want a small file size you can always expect very poor colour resoloution, lots of artifacts and clunky fast motion. What I suggest doing is thinknig about ways to avoid the effect. Use a different fade, or just use cuts.

The "thick lines" down either side of your screen suggests to me that you're using the wrong aspect ratio and or frame size.
