Blurring a car license plate problem. Urgent!!!.

Hey I have a car and its leaving my drive way and I have added the Motion Blurr effect to the license plate but I can't seem to view the rest of the video. What I mean is the license plate is blurred but the rest of the car is all black around the blurr I really need to know how to fix this.

create anothe video layer above. copy the scene to the above track.
Mask out the area of the lisence plate
Apply a gaussion blur to it
and there u have it.

did that still the same but this time I dont see a blurr over the license plate when watching the clip only in the pan editing thing.

What should I put the mask settings at? like the Mode in out or both, feather % etc etc.

Don't forget I am a noob with editing.

on ur masked layer u need to apply a blur effect.
