Looking for suggestions..
i have both divx and xvid codecs installed but none of the .avi's i download will open in Vegas..it will open other .avi's that my friend put on my computer when he built it recently but all the stuff i download just wont work..
i've enabled 'allow 3rd party codecs' and also tried allowing use of the windows codec..but to no avail...
i even tried deleting/re-installing..

I have a billion codecs, well lots, and I canoot get xvids onto the timeline. All divxs are fine. I suggest using vitrualdub to tanscode the xvids into something else editable. http://www.virtualdub.org/

It is annoying that vegas cant open xvids, it can cope with just about anything else. If you or anyone finds a fix I would love to know.
