ok im new to vegas video and was wondering how u can speed up a video clip but leave the audio at normal speed. thx

Yes. Just lock the audio track before you apply a spped change to the video. (Right click audio and select 'Switches' - 'Lock')

(Although, and I'm only saying this from memory, if you only select the video track anyway I don't think it does the audio at the same time.)

ok what i was doing to speed up the video was wrong i guess cuz even though i locked the audio it still sped up. what i was doing was cranking the rate bar to 4.00 since my video clips are 1/4 speed so can someone help thx

Right click the video track. Select Insert Remove Envelope and select Velocity. This adds a blueish green line across the video track. Use the mouse to lift if to the rate desired.

Do you want it go even faster? Hover the cursor over the end of the video track to get the "size event" option then hold down "Ctrl" (a little squiggle under the symbol will show) and drag it left or right. (left to speed up).

Is there a way to speed up the video and audio together?

the way i'm doing it now, it speeds up the video but leaves the audio at regular speed
