If you are running Platinum 11 the right click the clip and look for Stabilise near the top of the context menu.
The OP might want to download the free 15-day trial of Vegas Movie Studio HD 11 Platinum or Platinum Visual Effects Suite and test if the features meet his needs. I believe Z Cheema refers to Stabilize media option available also in VMStudio 11 Platinums.

I like Windows XP or Windows 7 when working with Vegas Pro, Vista was a little slow for me.
You can just upgrade your current version of Vegas to Pro......you dont need you latest version. I transfered from Vegas Pro 9 to Pro 10 and there wasnt really and differences.
I've never messed with Platinum or looked into it, so I'm not familiar with its Motion Graphics, but you might want to check this website VIDEO COPILOT | After Effects Tutorials, Plug-ins and Stock Footage for Post Production Professionals
I, personally, like Desktop. I have a Dual 22" monitor setup, your average laptop will be 15" that will hopefully have a VGA out that you can DUAL setup as well. I dont like having he screen so closse to me, and for laptop you'll also need a mouse.........what I like about laptop is that if your traveling, you can just unload your SD cards onto your laptop. I good Memory Card Backup might cost you about the same as a laptop. So you might just want to get one. Lol
Whatever you choose, dont worry to much about the graphics card, get atleast 2xprocessor and atleast 2gb ram.
Ok, thanks...! I got plenty of time before I can do anything, so I'm still looking into a lot of dif stuff...![]()
