Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Codec problem in Mediastudio 6

Hi there,

I am trying to letterbox my short, but Mediastudio wouldn't allow me. When I try to create the file, the following comes up:

This Video codec can not compress the video with the specific frame size (I am using a German version, so this is a translation)

I want to change the size of the letterboxes manually, so 16:9 settings wouldn't do it for me.

The same problem occurs when changing the picture size from 720x576 to 320X240 for the internet.

I got the correct settings:
PAL (25 B/s)
Field A
Microsoft AVI Dateien
24 Bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
Interleave-Audio alle 1 Bilder
DV Audio - PAL, 48 kHz; 16 Bit; Stereo

I also got the Mediastudio-update for Pro 6.

I hope somebody can help me

Best regards

Jürgen

Sounds (and looks) like you're trying to use a non-standard frame size with a DV codec. The solution? Use an MPEG4 codec such as WMV, Xvid or DivX. This will also be ideal for web based video (DV AVI won't cut the mustard). Use a VBR of 600kbits/sec.

Hi Marc,

I installed DivX521, but still I can only cut when I activate 'original size' (distorted picture)...
Also the resizing to 320X240 doesn't work .

Thanks
Jürgen
