Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default vegas 5 star-trek FX

Hello, can anyone please help me do a special effect like the star-trek transporter room. I want to make my dog appear as though he's been teleported from one scene to another.
Karen

All I can think of is to shoot the scene on a tripod, but make sure you have just as much footage (in length) of the setting of the scene, but without the dog in it. Then, at the moment when you want to do the transporter effect, do a really slow fade from the footage of the dog to the footage of the same frame without the dog. Add the transporter sound to it. All this is missing is the blue swirly energy stuff...I'm not sure how to add that to the scene, but hopefully what I've told you makes some kind of sense.

yep, you NEED a tripod for this.

shoot the dog. Not like that. Shoot the dog doing whatever you want it to, then fix the tripod on it. don't move the tripod. get the dog to stay there for as long as you want the transporting wibbly wobbly bit to last. then throw something at the dog. get it to run away. get a second of that shot.

Then, like above, you just have to add some wibbly wobbly effects over the dog, and do a fade or something to the new scene. the bits of the dog will be replaced by what's behind it. I dunno what the effect is called. might just work with a fade.

i realise this post is similar to what's said above, but there's more animal cruelty in mine.

I'd just like to add that no animals were harmed in mrlipring's post.
