Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Vegas 5.0

Hi,

I Have a problem with vegas 5.0. I own a JVC GR-PD1. When I load my 25p Hi res footage vegas see's it as 50p and as a result the footage is played back in vegas twice as fast. When I check the properties of the footage in the media pool the frame rate of 50 is choosen and the option to change it is greyed out. anyone had this problem or aware of a fix? All I need to do is tell Vegas it's 25p footage not 50p. thanks in advance

Try this.
Instead of checking the properties of the clip in the media pool, do it from the timeline. On the media tab, you will (or should) be able to select your own frame rate. Fingers crossed!

Andy.

Hi Andy,

Yeah well I can change the playback rate to 0.500 under properties in the timeline and then the clip plays back at normal speed. What bugs me is the video is half the side of the audio whilst on the timeline. Should I just stretch the video out to match the size of the audio once I adjust the playback rate? thanks

Seems likethe only solution. I looked into it last night for you, and I cant see a)why you're getting the problem in the first place, and b) any other way out of it.

Soz.
