Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Taking a snapshot in Vegas

Sony Vegas Movie Studio 4.0

I'm sure there is a way to take one frame of a video file and display it as a still image but how to do it continues to escape me.

Also, can I advance the cursor on the timeline by one frame at a time to pick which frame to take a snapshot of.

Thanks

I think this is the same for Vegas 4 and 5
In the video preview pane, the floppy disc icon on the far right is used to save a still. TIP- The save function only saves he still as you view it, so select Best (Full) preview mode for the best picture.

To view frame by frame, zoom the timeline as far as you can and then move the cursor along the timeline. If you disable Snapping ( F8 ) you can get closer still.

Hope this helps
Andy.

Thanks Andy,

Problem solved.

I'm surprised that I couldn't find snapshots in the help index.

Thanks for your help.

Phil
