Thread: Video Multi Color Pixels

Ok I recorded a video that either the DV tape or the camera was working badly. The video has parts in it where on the side of it changes to a bunch of different multi color pixels. And the audio cuts in and out and sometimes has some chirps in it. OK Is there anything I can do? Software? Overlay the videos, also anything to correct the audio as well? I'm using sony vegas 9

If it happens in the same place then most likely the record head has been misaligned. If it happens at different places then the the read head is misaligned. Do you remember dropping the camera? Or has it received a sharp jolt?

If possible try another camera to read from.

Then again it could be that on the "read" some dirt is on the heads. When was the last time you cleaned? Or how often?

After all this is could be that the tape is screwed, then no go.

As to using Vegas? Well, if it is a result of heads or tape then, I'm afraid, it's a case of garbage-in and garbage-out - It does sound as if it is a mechanical issue.
