Actually what I am trying to do is use my camcorder as the capture device for VHS.
I have a ton of home movies on VHS.
I connect my VCR to my camcorder and then connect my camcorder to the computer via firewire. Using the pass-thru feature on the camcorder I can play the VHS tape in the VCR and it is passed thru to the camcorder which is the capture device and which is set to the VCR mode and the camcorder sends the video to the computer via firewire. I can do this using DVD-lab but when I try to do this using PowerDirector 4 it tells me to insert a tape into my camcorder.
So I guess what I am trying to say is PD 4 cannot capture VHS from a digital camcorder.

At school Ive been taught Final Cut Pro, Ive used Adobe Premeire a bit at home, and I must say over all of that, Vegas has won my heart. I perfer it over both of those.
