Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Not good news . . . .

However, on the main SONY Vegas Forum is a majorly l o n g posting about similar/same issues of QT Mov video coming from FCP, which may throw some light on this complex and infuriating, knotty issue.

Don't use FCP so I'd be guessing? Can't you get the orig footage?

Export from FCP as a Quick Time Movie, not a QT conversion, no need for Compressor. Instead of using Current Settings, select a codec like Pro Res 444 1080 60i. Try several different Pro Res codecs to see which one works best. I've found not all of them work. Pro Res 422 1080 60i is one I had trouble with. QT for Windows did not recognize it. Pro Res 1080 24P worked.

On the Windows side, make sure the latest version of Quick Time is installed. If QT recognizes it, Vegas and DVDA will also.
