Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Converting a Video_TS file for Vegas

Hi,

When I copied a family member's wedding DVD to my hard drive it saved as a Video_TS file. I want to use some footage from this video in Sony Vegas but SV is not recognising the file format.

Is there a way to use this type of file in SV?

Alternatively, any tips on the simplest way to convert a Video_TS file to a file compatible with SV?

Thanks.

Video_TS is the name of a folder not a file. Look inside this folder you will find files called *.vob these are the video files. Sony Vegas will recognise these. There may or may not be separate audio files in a folder called audio_TS.

If Vegas wont let you put the .vob file on the time line use the DVD import and point it at the directory where the Video_TS folder is.

....or you can rename the .vob to .mpg - usually works.
