Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Vegas Pro: How to keep wide screen format after rotating video

I have a Canon Vixia HF20 and recorded some bowling videos. The camera takes Widescreen HD format in AVCHD. I wanted to record a full body shot, instead of the 2 lanes of either side, so I rotated my camera 90° to be able to record full body videos. With Sony Vegas Pro v9.0, I'm able to rotate the video, but it cuts off the top and bottom, so after final production, the movie turns out as a square video, instead of retaining the widescreen format. Therefore, I lose the top and bottom. Wndows Media Movie maker can rotate and retain the widescreen format. Unfortunately, since the camera format is AVCHD, I have to convert it first and Movie Maker is very limited. I would like use Vegas Pro. Is there anyway to rotate the video and still keep the widescreen format?

Oh, never mind. I figured it out. I can set the properties of the project and changed it from 1440x1080 to 1080x1440.
