Thread: Sony Vegas stops responding when trying to import large file

I am trying to import a 4gb avi file I created into Sony Vegas 8 and the program stops responding. I have waited upto 10 minutes before forcing the program to close. I have no problem importing other files. Do I really need to wait longer or something else at fault? Thanks for your time.

Depending on your system, 4 gig is the limit for 32bit programs I believe.

Should not be a problem, I have had larger files then that.

I have captured a Tape of a pantomime which runs for over an hour, this is over 13Gb

The Gb limit you may be thinking of MB may be the FAT limit of 4Gb, you have to use NTFS to use large files

No im not using FAT32. Is that even possible these days :P
