Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Question Can't Paste Event Attributes

I have got Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 7.0 and have been editing a wedding video. I was struggling to paste event attributes as it was greyed out, for about a month and eventually decided to look it up on the internet. Some of your advice said to close down the programme and start it back up holding down Ctrl & Shift. I did this last night and it worked! I could all of a sudden paste event attributes! I cannot tell you my joy after giving each and every clip individual effects! Tonight, I have opened up and again, it won't let me paste event attributes and I have tried restarting with Ctrl & Shift, but it doesn't do anything. Can anyone help me PLEASE!?!?!?!

have you tried using CTRL+C and CTRL+V to copy and post, does that work?
Try a restore does that help?
Are any other programs with the same problem?

Unhappy

I have tried that and it still does not work! It is so frustrating! I don't have any other editing software so it doesn't happen anywhere else that I am aware of.

Strange . . .
  • Please reply with your process steps for doing this procedure.
  • Please post a screen grab of your workspace
  • Media format you are using and your project settings.
Can you do the "classic" MS Copy and Paste with OTHER programs? Notepad, WORD . . ..

Don't know Movie Studio, but are the clips 'grouped' together?

No, they weren't. Should they have been? I've never had to do that before?

Nice thinking Archie, but I still can't repro our friend's issue here.

Tried:-
  • VMSPlat
  • VegasPro9c
  • Both Grouped and Un-Grouped
What I DO get is that whatever is the Donor event, for Copying to a PEA, the Target receives that Donor's Fxs. For example if the Donor was Event2 of a Group of 2, then Fxs of Event2 would be selected and PEA-ed to the Target.

No, it was just a stab in the dark to be honest. I use Vegas Pro, and with that, if the clips are still grouped together after using multicam, you can't paste attributes from one to the other (because they are now the same clip I guess) Ungrouping them solves that.

I did the Group thing but NOT using Multicam. See my results above. Please try and repro NOT using MultiCam? I'm guessing that MultiCam IS achieving something other than the standard Grouping then?

Interesting . .. ?
