Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Vegas Pro 8 Moving Scenes

Okay so I am finishing up editing on a movie and need to take several of the scenes and burn them to a disk. I am trying to move the scenes into a new project and just burn that project, but I cannot figure out how to move individual scenes to the new project. Is there any way to take scenes and move them to different projects? Any help would be great!

Yes, yes there is . . .

1] Open up your "working" project and THEN open up another empty NEW "instance" of VegasPro8. You can have as many instances of Vegas open, as your PC will allow.

2] Go back to your working project and click on the Events/scenes you want, and go COPY.

3] Switch to your NEW "empty" instance

4] Insert a Video or Audio Track, it doesn't matter

5] Go PASTE.

Done!

There are other methods of getting Events into NEW instances of Vegas, nesting VEGgies within other Veggies, but this is the simplest.

Or open project then re save as new project name, delete all unwanted clips and render.

Or

highlight the sections you want to render and press R (region) then go to render and on the left of the box (I Think) select render regions, and away you go.
