Thread: Sony Vegas 9 won't play audio while editing a project

Hi there,

I've just installed Vegas 9, and when I drag a video clip onto the timeline and try to play it in the preview box, the audio only plays for about two seconds, then it cuts out, and there's only silence while the video plays.

The audio definitely accompanies the video onto the timeline, it just doesn't seem to play. The same also happens no matter where I start to watch the clip - if I start half way through, it plays the audio briefly, then cuts to silence.

I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to video editing, so I can't see how to go about solving the problem. Is there some codec I need to install?

Please post a Screen grab of your Screen Workspace, inlcuding the Track Headers.

Hmm, don't I feel rather foolish - I went to go and take the screen grab, and thought I'd try playing it again...and the audio worked perfectly. Thanks for your help though!

Im actually having the same problem and I cant seem to able to fix it, any help please?
