Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default want to burn my dvd a certain way - How?

Hello All, I'm using Ulead software..I want to burn a dvd that I can place in a Home DVD box and have it automaticly play a small clip, after the small clip is complete, then present the menu. So basicly i want to show an introduction followed by a menu of choices simular to when production houses do like MGM and such at the beginning of films. Thanks

When you say "Ulead software", which particular application are you using? The generic name for what you want is to do is to set a video as the "first play".

Using Video Studio 8 software. Did not know what the name was called. Thanks. Can you direct me in the right direction to making a first play video. Should note that I generally use ULead for editing the DVD, then use nero to burn. Reason that I use Nero is that for some reason, my sony DVD burner will not burn with ulead and nero seems to have no problems burning... strange but true...

Thanks for your help

VideoStudio 8 enables users to create entertaining DVDs with theme-based menu templates, customized layouts, multiple videos, dual layer menus, and first play video
It can be done, but I don't have Video Studio 8, so I can't tell you how. I would suggest you check your manual or search the help files for "first play". If this option is not available with Nero, I suggest you create an image file with Studio and then burn this with Nero.

First of all create your 'First Play' video as a separate file.

In Video Studio 8 take the following steps,

1. Click the 'Share' Tab

2. Click the 'Create Disk' button

3. Click the 'Add Video' button

4. Locate and insert your First Play clip

5. Drag this clip to the leftmost side of the time line

6. Check (by clicking) the 'First clip as first play video' checkbox (it should be a green tick).

7. Continue your project as normal to completion.

8. Enjoy

Good luck
