Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Vegas vs Movie Studio

Hi
Just after a few quick points on how Vegas differs to say Movie studio and Movie Studio Platinum?
What really does the semi-pro get for the extra money?
cheers

As no version gives you the common sense to look at the manufacturers website for a table of comparison I'd better post a link for you:

Sony Creative Software - Vegas Pro 8 - Vegas Family Comparison

Key benefits for me:
Bezier Masks
Scopes
Infinite (limited by PC) video and audio tracks
Secondary colour corrector
Scripting (not that I'm capable of writing them, but I certainly use them)

But DO NOT BUY PRO.

Even if you want it.

Buy Movie Studio then UPGRADE to Pro
It's cheaper (significantly so) than buying Pro AND you get all the "extras" that are included with various versions of Movie Studio.

Whats more you may find you've got more than enough with Movie Studio anyway so you'll save money whatever.

Tim
thank you
I did go to the website before I posted and looked at it
But not been a pro I did not understand fully what the simple/major differences are, as I think only someone who uses them would know that
thanks for the tip to save $
off to South Africa soon so the more I save now the more I can spend over there
cheers

Go pro if you can afford it with the dodges noted above.

Four tracks is a joke.
