Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Vegas 8 audio problem

I have the sony vegas 8.0 program, and i'm not really a professional using it. So, my problem is that when I drag the clip to the clipboard, the program doesn't find the audio clip, I only see the video one. The camera is a sony dcr-sr35E , so I think that it should work correctly with sony vegas...
The clips from the camera can be played at all players, like wmp, vlc, etc.
The format of the videos is MPEG-2

so, what should I do to have the audo file in vegas 8.0?

regards,

eduardo

Hey Eduardo,

Had a similar problem myself starting out (last week)

If your clip is already imported in the Project Media, right click on it and open it in the Trimmer.

Once the clip is in the trimmer and you have selected the region you want to import to the timeline, right click on the clip and choose "Select Video and Audio". I found I had inadvertently selected just the video.

Hope that helps,
Craig

I suspect this is a codec is a codec issue.
You may need another codec so vegas can use the audio.
Try downloading the ' nimo codec pack ' - easy to google.

thank you guys, I did what you said but I still can't play the audio...
First, i can't find where is the "Select Video and Audio" option.
Second, the codecs didn't work..
