Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Ulead Video Studio 8

First of all, a big hello to everyone...and please forgive my ignorance regarding the subject of video/video editing.

I have recently started to experiment with video/video editing, which is due to the fact that I now have a fairly decent computer system capable of allowing me to do so. I have been playing with Windows Movie Maker, which has enabled me to edit a few family videos etc, and generally get the feel for things.

I don't want to spend a fortune on editing software, but I would like to take the next step and get something a little more advanced tham WMM.

There are quite a few good reviews regarding Ulead's Video Studio 8, but I would like to know if it's a logical progression for me? I have seen this software for £34.99, which doesn't scare my wallet too much.

Cheers.

Why not download a trial of it? I think you can from the Ulead web site. That would probably be the best way of determining if it's for you or not. Others you may want to consider are:

Adobe Premiere Elements -->Link<--
Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus -->Link<--
MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2005 -->Link<--
Roxio VideoWave 7 (or the whole suite called Easy Media Creator 7) -->Link<--
