I don't care. If a format becomes the distribution format, then (for all those that do not create everything that they use) by definition, that format is the one in which material can be obtained.

But perhaps this is really about a silent DRM conspiracy? Perhaps Sony and others are not aiding the import of flv becuase they know that a lot of Sony (and others') content is being distributed in flv and they don't want people editing and redistributing it.

I would not dream of it, sir. I like my balls, and "by attribution" seems very generous.

Vimeo provides CC licencing options.
Eyespot basically says that anything you upload is for anyone to use.
And at least one of the big four music producers is effectively licencing their music to Youtube users on the condition that they put adverts next to the videos that use that music.
By the way, some Onda (a relatively unknown Chinese manufacturer) VX series players can play flv, some with TV output.
