Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Grazie, I'm the friend from way back up there and the dropped frames were with Firewire, not usb. USB didn't have any sound.

Not quite right.

You're confusing HD (High Definition) resolution which may be stored in a variety of formats which may be stored on a variety of media

High Definition may be stored on Tape (HDV format on miniDV tapes) which does require capturing, or it may be stored on Hard Disk or SD card (or other memory card) which can be copied as any other computer file.

And just to confuse the issue further there are hard drive and SD Card standard definition cameras.

So, among other options you can record HD on HDV or HDD or SD and you can record SD on SD or HDD

No problem Grazie. It's difficult to keep everything straight at times.
