Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Vegas 8 Widescreen rendering question

Hello,

Im sure there is an incredibly simple answer to this problem, but for all my searching, it escapes me.

So here's the lowdown. I am trying to render video captured using fraps at a resolution of 840x525. Ideally I would like to scale the video down to 740x480, (for online hosting purposes) and still maintain the widescreen aspect of the video. (Basically I want to see it letterboxed)

I have been rendering video using the DivX codec, and the finished result squishes my video and places letterbox style black bars running vertically on the left and right of the video, which looks incredibly horrible. For the life of me, Im not seeing an option to correct this.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Just had a similar problem, my image was being squashed inwards even though it wasn't widescreen

When you click render, look at the dialogue box near the bottom and tick "Stretch video to fill output frame size (do not letterbox)"

Should solve it.
