Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Vegas 8.0 Rendering

I'm making a clip and I want the finished product to be Divx or xvid. Right now I'm rendering with wmv9. How can I render with either divx or xvid?

Thanks

I'll assume you've got the encoders installed.

File Menu -> Render As

For "Save As Type" = Choose "Video for Windows". I tend to choose the "Default Template (uncompressed).

Click on the custom button.

Click on the Video tab.

Next to "Video Format" click on the drop-down listbox and pick your encoder (Xvid or DivX or anything else).

For the rest of the options (i.e. Configure button, pixel format, field order, audio etc etc) it's up to you but remember to save the template for future use.

Thank you, that helped alot.

Unfortunately I'm having trouble with the divx codec now. There are two options in the list, divx YV12 Decoder and divx (2 logical cpu's). Both give me errors when trying to render. I believe these codecs are installed correctly because I can play those types of videos fine.
