Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Is there a size limit whilst importing VOB Files?

As the title says, is there a size limit?

Vegas 7 seems to crash when I try to import anything over 1GB.

I have an 800MB VOB and that works fine aswell as a lot of others which are a lot smaller.

I'm running Vegas on a P4 2.93GHz (Dual) with 1GB of RAM.

Is this a software limitation or possibly my hardware getting its knickers in a twist. Would upping the RAM help?

Thanks

My vegas does odd things with big vobs too. One or two is fine - any more and vegas keeps 'hanging' - it hasnt crashed it just gets really slow.

It doesnt affect dv files.

Thanks Mark, I just tried it again and left it, went out and forgot about it. Came back and it was there (not sure how long it actually took)

Vegas was slow especially when scrolling etc. But finally managed to do what I wanted.

Cheers.
