Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Simple Question - Colour Corrector

I was wondering how to achieve this effect -
YouTube - Tivo Transpo by TheCuso
in Sony Vegas 8. I know how it's done in 6 and 7, and that's no use to me.

Thanks.

What do you mean? It's done exactly the same in Vegas 8 as in previous versions. Funnily enough I was doing that exact effect in Vegas 8 only yesterday exactly as described in YouTube - Tutorial Sony Vegas Sin City ( Tivo Transpo) effect

A thought occurs - you maybe have Vegas MOVIE STUDIO rather than Vegas Pro (previously just Vegas) version 8.

In which case no dice. Movie Studio has NEVER had Secondary Colour Corrector.

Ah yeah, sorry, forgot to mention the "Movie Studio" bit :P

Is there no way of doing it with the normal Color Corrector?

Thanks.

AND THIS IN Vegas MOVIE STUDIO!

Well . . maybe there is . ..

You can try and experiment doing the following:

1] Repeat a sample on another video track

2] Apply Chroma Key to the upper and choose a colour from the video

3] By Mute-ing and UNmute-ing the lower track see if you can get some separation of colours

4] Add Black Restore Fx to upper track Event and adjust back and forth

5] Bring back lower track and also chroma key out colours on that lower track - and do that "Black Restore Shuffle"

In essence, what I'm suggesting is a possible way to isolate Blacks and Whites and thence Colours. Try and achieve an in-track/interim Garbage Matte Chroma Key mask.

I've just been playing with it and it looks kinda funky!

Nudge nudge!!!!!

Grazie

A really easy way to do that effect is to try playing with the saturation tool. Works if the red is the strongest colour in the scene.
