Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default big problem with new camcorder PLEASE HELP

ok so i purchused a new camcorder and took some videos, its a hard drive camcorder, and the file extension it took them in was a weird one. when i riht-clicked on one and did properties, the file type was just "movie file". i can play them on windows media player, BUT MY QUESTION IS

is there some kinda of file extension thing i can get so sony vegas can read these files? or do i have to convert each file i put onto my computer?
please help, and thank you

It might help us to help you if you post something more specific - eg:
What file extension? and
What camcorder?

ya sry about that, the type of files were mpeg files( or aka vob files), so vegas wouldnt read them. but i found out a method that i could use to bring them into the system. it was the drag and drop method.

but you would think that sony vegas would make a plug in for that all ryd because i hear abotu alot of people having the same problem

Are you using this method?

Open Vegas and GO > File > Import > Hard Disc Recording Unit . . .
