Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Art project, need software advice

Hey guys, I have to do a project for an art class and I was wondering if this is possible since I don't mess with video software too much. What I need to do is create a video, but i need to project it into a circle so that it fits the circle. Is this possible and what software would be best for it? I was thinking Sony Vegas Pro 8 but I'm not 100% sure. I made a picture to give an idea of what I am trying to create. Basically I am just trying to determine if it is possible first, and which software would be best to get. Also any tips greatly appreciated. Also I'd have to use the school projector and I'm not 100% sure how that will work out since I have little experience with this stuff. Thanks in advance. ImageShack - Hosting :: conceptdd3.jpg

Your hardware (Projector, DVD player, VCR etc) will be designed to project a rectangular image so the software is the least of your worries if you are after a true circular image.

More likely you're after a rectangular image with a circular section (your images) inside a black rectangle.

Virtually all video editing software is capable of this and there are a number of ways of doing this. A couple are:
1) Use a "cookie cutter" filter to mask out everything outside the circle
2) Use an overlay of a black rectangle with a circle cut out.

Basically, don't worry - it's not only possible, but simple too
