Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Loop regions

I am very new at Vegas and have very limited knowledge, but would love some help - specifically with loop regions.

Sometimes I seem to create them accidently and then I don't know how to clear them.

Essentially when I move the cursor, that creates the loop region from the point I move it without my intending to do so. I must be checking/unchecking some option without realizing it, but if someone can shed some light on what I am doing wrong, and how to stop it from happending, I would really appreciate it.

Don't try dragging the cursor, just click in the timeline where you want the cursor to appear. Or use the arrow keys. (Or various other keyboard shortcuts). Unless I've got the wrong end of the stick.

The reason I drag the cursor is b/c it seems to be the quickest way to look through the video on the timeline as I am editing.

But what I can't understand is why sometimes dragging it simply moves the cursor and at other times, it creates a loop.

Thanks,

Can't help you with the second part BUT for quickly scanning through the timeline I suggest you use the JKL keys (J - back, K - pause, L - forwards) Pressing the same key more than once speeds up the playback/reverse rate.

that's a great tip. thank you very much.

If anyone out there has an explanations for me with regards to the loop, I would still love to hear it - if nothing else, at least to satisfy myt own curiosity.
