question about wmv rendering

Hi i have a question about wmv

everytime i try to render movies from cam or webcam i get the message
there is no template available for this format, the selected media might not support it

is it any codec or plugin u have to install for it to work or can u get a template from anywhere ? im using version 8.0
thanks for any help i can get
