As I have stated at least twice in the thread where you asked - you can make animated buttons (ie buttons that include video clips) in both versions. The method is exactly the same in Studio or Pro.
As for Grazie's list, you don't get all the things he said except 5.1 which you DO get in a limited form with Platinum.
But, of course you know this already as you've checked out the product comparison page

To be honest Braden, I'd get going with Movie Studio Platinum 8. If you don't get on with it you haven't wasted too much. If you DO get on with it and feel the need to expand into areas only available in Pro, then upgrading to Pro won't cost you much more than if you bought Pro in the first place. Might even cost less.
I started off with Movie Studio Platinum 6, then upgraded when "Pro" 7 came out, taking advantage of the discounted price promotion at launch. Cost me less than if I'd bought 7 outright.
If I hadn't got on with it, my next port of call would have been Premiere Elements (with a view to going to Pro if I liked that).
I think we are actually spoiled in this "high-end consumer" market in having watered down versions we can play with for not a massive outlay (a 30 day trial isn't really long enough to get a real feel for a product this complex unless you're a full time videographer)
