Default Scorch Marks

ok so im tryin to blow someone up using a combination of vegas and fxhome visionlab pro. ive got my projectile and fake smoke made but i cant figure out how i would make scorch marks on the ground any ideas?

After effects can do it, you will need compsiting software. you could make an image in a photo editer like photoshop then bring it into your nle and set key fraimes, but it would look odd. So I would use AE or hire someone to do that for you.

Is the shot of the ground with the scorch marks in close up or is it viewed from a wide shot? If it is viewed from further away don't be making unnecessary work for yourself. Less detail will do compared to close up.
