Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default How do I make images last 1/24th of a second?

I'm trying to make an animation with several thousand PNG files and I can't figure out how to make them last shorter than 1 second.

If theres no way to do that is there a way to speed up an entire AVI file? Thanks

Wil is absolutely right. But if you shrink the duration of each still after you've placed them on the timeline AND don't use AutoRipple. The duration of each still will, indeed, shrink BUT the start of each still will not move. There is nothing to fill in the blanks - hence your "black" every other frame.

A better approach might be to set project preferences BEFORE you stick the stills on the timeline.
Go to Options | Prefences and access the "Editing" tab. About a third of the way down is "New Still Image Length" (Seconds)" enter a sensible figure.

If you're using PAL (25 fps) then 0.05 will give you 25 frames per second. If (as I suspect) you have set the project properties to "Film" (24 fps) then enter a value of 0.42 would appear to be in order - I'm not sure how accurate this is - my guess would be a clip cannot last for less than one frame so anything there or thereabouts should work)

No all your imported stills will last for one frame (by default).
