I am recording some old vhs footage to my hardware dvd recorder.

I am then putting it in vegas. I am rendering using the 'dvd architect' preset for pal.

When I play back the render on my pc, or a hardware dvd player, I get picture blurring and jittering during and fast movement of objects or people on screen.

However, if I encode to h264 for youtube or for archiving, the problem goes away.

I'm sure it is something basic as I am new to vegas.

I also end up using 'Videora' to encode to h264 as I find the encoder in vegas takes about 4 times as long with much worse results at similar settings ?

Can anybody point me to a thread or answer themselves what is going on ?
