My movie will be around 40 minutes. So what's the math for that? I will try what you said with two small segments, just to see how it wrks. Once again, I appreciate it very much.

Well,
I rendered a section of my movie, video and audio together and it came out as 18 minutes and 880,338 KB and it says it's too large to burn to my disk. Is this because of the bit rate?
I was in the middle of rendering that when you suggested splitting the video and the audio rendering. So I would like to try that but looking through the render as dropdown, how exactly do I select that?

I was able to render just video, and now with audio, I selected the .ac3 but a Sony Media software pop up occurs and asking me to buy something. Do I not have the appropriate plug in? Can I not do this now?
One other thing I noticed, when I burned my video version of the movie, the still pictures look great, but now my dvd player can't see to read my video. I'm a mess!!! |

Your dvd player will not be able play it untill you make a dvd in dvda. When you register vegas you get a lincence for ac3, are you useing the trial? if not did you register it?
The reason why you need to register it is because sony has to pay dolby a certain amount of money for rights so they need to know how many people are using it

I don't know why I didn't register it....kept putting it off, thinking it would take too long. Thanks for that tip.
Anyway, once in DVD-A, the size won't be an issue to write to a 700 mb cd-r disk?

Are you putting it in you set-top dvd player, I figured you were using dvd-/+. If its more the 670ish mb it will not fit. You'll get better quilty with dvd (less compression)

I'm not too sure with the termanology you are using. I was just planning on buring it with my dvd rom. So it won't fit with a cd-r, but I think I'm limited as to what type of disk I can use. I don't think it can write to a dvd +-
Any suggestions? Go buy a burner???

I would, there pretty cheap now at about $40-70 for decent one with sonys and pioneers at $120 or so. shop around you'll find a good deal. Just so you know not all set top dvd players can play VCD's ( video Compact Disc)
