Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default PAL render to dvd

I Have a huge problem!!
I was shooting in Sony DSR-250P and used widescreen imaging by selecting the 16:9 mode in the menu.
I have editing the movie with AVID software and make it quiktime reference to rendering in VEGAS 7.0. software.
When I was rendering the movie, and burned this on DVD format (adobe encore xx), the picture on tv is terrible. particularly the fast moves. I know that the problems are interlaced systems. But what can I do that problem, because I want to pictures seems good on TV monitor. This is some facts on my render properties on VEGAS software. Is that somenthing wrong or could I have been change something properties and how??
My render facts:

Project Properties:
PAL DV WideScreen (720x576; 25 fps)
Field order: Lower field First
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,4568 (PAL DV WideScreen)
Deinterlace method: Blend Fields

Clip Properties:
Field order: Lower field First
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,4568 (PAL DV WideScreen)

Render Properties:
MPEG-2
Output Type: DVD (720x576)
Aspect Ratio: 16:9 Display
Profile: High Profile; Level: High Level
Field order: Interlaced, Bottom Field First
Video Quality: High (32)
Constant Bit Rate (bps): 6 000 000
Sampling format: 4:2:0

Not something I worry about day to day (because my standard presets and templates take care of it all for me) but I thougth PAL was upper field first. Anyone?

I have a real problem why you have made an interim QT file? Can't you prepare a file for V7 other than that? I've had a problem with QT handling the 16:9 flag. Not saying you have the same, but do try a straight test WITHOUT using the QT.

Just try a test and see - yeah?

All your other settings is exactly what I would do.

Thinking about it more, unless you have ALREADY had previous success with this QT interim, I'd be removing this highly compressed format from the picture. What compression is the QT anyway?

Alan: PAL = LFF - have a dekko at the Vegas Templates, it is all LFF for PAL.

Grazie

Is there any reason to look flat tv than picture tube tv? Plasma or LCD TV?
