Hey, I'm a first time Vegas user, I used to edit with WMM but it froze all the time, so I switched to this. I watched a nice long tutorial on the software, but I have a question it didn't answer.

I use Vegas 7.0 if it helps

In the video below, The maker did some effects where one clip is playing while another is, but it's formed around objects and fits to the sky, so for example in the intro to the video only the sky in the first clip displays the second clip. I know how to make two clips play at the same time, but only by making two boxes.

The effect I want to do are at times
00:02-00:08
00:27-00:36

As you can see it looks like part of the clip is a movie screen, displaying the other clips. However it's formed around objects.

Thanks for any help, I'm new to vegas but to finish my video I need this effect.

Its just a mask, this tutorial should get you started. I would suggest getting a few books or instructional dvds, learn the basics first, you must crawl before you can walk.
