Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Cloning ... need the experts

Sorry for starting three threads. I don't believe I can edit my own posts on this forum.

Anyway. I have a scene in which the main character will be looking at himself. Thus I need to clone him. I know I have to make a compositing/parent type of video, thus I have my main character on one side of the screen where I filmed him and then I filmed him on the other side. I was digging through old posts and found this link:

Two cats from one.

The only problem, is that for beginners it isn't to easy (atleast not for me). I got the two scenes to play over each other, almost like a ghost image by using him on the left as the background (parent) and him on the right as the compositing layer. The problem is that it looks just like a ghost image. I need it to look like it is one video sequence with him on the left and right. Much like the guy in the link did with the cat. If someone could give me step by step instructions, that would be awesome.

Yes you can edit your own post, You never said what software you are using, Vegas can do it but I prefer AE for that effect. Videocopilot has a tut on this, see below:

Here's a link to a thread that I was involved in a few month's back. I added a screencast in one of the replies.

It might help!
