Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Quality and Size sketchy

Hey. I've chucked a few clips into a movie to test how to get the best quality. The clips involve skating so I need to keep the quality without blurring... but the quality is bad because the motion is slow and all blurry. Anywho.. these are my render settings:

Audio: 48,000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo, PCM Uncompressed.
Video: 29.97 fps, 720x480, Lower field first.
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 0.909. OpenDML compatible.
NTSC DV video files compatible with Sonic Foundry Video Capture.
A 15 second movie comes out as 58 megs. The clips that I imported had .mov extensions, and I'm using Vegas Video 4. Cheers to anyone that takes the effort to reply.

What are you rendering from?

I assume it is a ntsc dv capture.

To keep the best quality edit on the raw dv capture, render to the same settings, as you appeared to have done.

If the distribution method is dvd keep the picture interlaced, as you have done above.

Befor compression for web use it is best to deinteralace.

I dont think you can improve on what you have done.
